as winemakers and farmers, carlo and dante mondavi attribute a great deal of what they have learned to their grandfather robert and father tim, both who influenced them from a young age. in 2013, after years of inspiration and the love of the cool rugged expanses of the sonoma coast, carlo and dante branched out on their own to begin raen. the unique spelling is of raen our society and ethos, which is translated to research in agriculture and enology naturally. their goal remains to produce world-class pinot noir on the western hills of the sonoma coast.
