dance for connection is committed to improving the quality of life for older adults and people with dementia through dance, dance/movement therapy and embodied caregiving by means of direct programming, education and training, supervision, professional writing, advocacy and research. the octaband® was created by donna newman-bluestein to motivate a group of people with mid to late stage dementia who were challenging to engage. the octaband® was so successful, she subsequently manufactured it for worldwide distribution for people of all ages and abilities.
